This little grotto is in a bulb-out of the parking lot next to a tree that looks older than Austin. The juxtaposition of nature seen in the tree, the spiritual through the statue, and the mundane through the cars in the background feels a bit like I do trying to be both of/in the world while aspiring for what’s beyond it.
God our Father,
life of the faithful,
glory of the humble,
happiness of the just,
hear our prayer.
Fill our emptiness
with the blessing of the Eucharist,
the foretaste of eternal joy.
We ask this though our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
