Today in the Catholic Church is the solemnity honoring Mary as the Mother of God, a holy day of obligation (meaning we to church today). We start the calendar year remembering who brought the Prince of Peace into the world and reminding ourselves that it is us who are called to being peace and love into the world now, following her example. If 2019 is going to have more love in it, it is us with the intercession of and following the footsteps of Mary. Since I’m with O in the hospital, we’re not going to Mass, but on one of her walks, we stopped by the hospital chapel for a quiet moment. Here is the tabernacle (Dell Children’s as part of Seton is a Catholic hospital). After a couple days here, we’re being processed out, so should be home within the next couple hours.
