Keep It Down

The neighborhood has been working for awhile to lower our speed limits. Neighborhoods, by law, have a 30 MPH speed limit and when the process started to change them, state law made it really hard to reduce the limit.

The City did a large study to figure how to lower speed limits in areas where it made sense and we’re getting our signs installed.

We had a kid in the neighborhood, back around 2016, who was hit by a car. Kid ran out without looking. Car was going the 30 MPH speed limit. The kid lived but I don’t know if he’ll eat solid food again or ever be able to stand up.

According to the various research, if that car was going 25 instead of 30, he would have absolutely been hurt, but far more likely to make a full recovery.
